Editorial Policy

How we research, write, fact-check, and publish — and the standards we hold ourselves to every time a piece of content goes live on The Dailey House.

Mission Statement

The Dailey House is dedicated to delivering trustworthy, practical, and beautifully presented home decor content that inspires readers to create spaces they genuinely love — whatever their budget, style, or square footage.

We believe every home deserves thoughtful attention, and every reader deserves content that is honest, well-researched, and human. Our editorial work is guided by four core commitments: accuracy, transparency, inclusivity, and integrity.

Our editorial promise: Every article published on The Dailey House has been reviewed by a named human editor before going live. We do not publish templated, auto-generated, or unreviewed content. Period.

This Editorial Policy exists to make our standards visible and accountable — to our readers, our contributors, and ourselves. If you ever feel we’ve fallen short of what’s described here, we want to know.

02

Core Editorial Principles

The following principles govern every content decision made at The Dailey House — from what we write about to how we source images, credit contributors, and handle sponsored relationships.

Accuracy & Fact-Checking

Every styling tip, product claim, and decorating guideline we publish is verified before it goes live. Our editors cross-reference product details against manufacturer specifications, confirm pricing accuracy at the time of writing, and source design principles from reputable interior design resources. When we cite trends, we link to original reports. If a product is discontinued or a price changes, we update the article promptly and note the revision. We do not publish decorating “myths” as fact without explicitly debunking them.

Editorial Independence

The Dailey House’s content recommendations are made entirely on editorial merit. Advertisers and affiliate partners cannot influence, request, or direct our coverage. We do not accept payment for positive reviews or feature products solely because of commercial relationships. If we wouldn’t genuinely recommend something to a close friend, we don’t publish it as a recommendation. Affiliate links, where present, are always disclosed and never alter our assessments.

Transparency & Disclosure

Sponsored content is clearly labeled “Sponsored” or “Partnered Content” at the top of the article — never buried in a footer. Affiliate links are disclosed at the beginning of any article that contains them. If a product was gifted to us for review, we say so. Our editorial opinions remain our own regardless of how we received a product, and we disclose any potential conflicts of interest to readers proactively.

Privacy & Subject Respect

We never share personal details — home addresses, identifying photos, or names — about private individuals without their explicit written consent. When readers submit photos of their own spaces for features, we confirm consent in writing before publishing and give full credit. We do not use reader-submitted content in any commercial capacity without separate, specific permission.

Diversity & Inclusivity

We are committed to reflecting a wide range of homes, budgets, aesthetics, and lived experiences in our content. We actively feature decor ideas for small apartments, rental spaces, older homes, and non-traditional layouts alongside aspirational spaces. Our language is inclusive by default — we avoid terms that assume ownership, wealth, or specific living situations. We highlight diverse design traditions, emerging global aesthetics, and perspectives that go beyond the dominant mainstream of interior design media.

Sensitivity & Responsible Coverage

We approach sensitive subjects — sustainability, ethical sourcing, accessibility in home design, and the emotional weight of home environments — with care and nuance. We do not sensationalize or dramatize topics for traffic. When covering contested design trends or culturally significant aesthetics, we research their origins and present context rather than reducing them to visual shorthand.

Community Engagement

Reader comments and feedback are moderated to maintain a respectful, constructive environment. We aim to respond to substantive questions and corrections within 48–72 hours. Content that is harassing, discriminatory, or submitted in bad faith is removed without notice. Constructive criticism of our content is always welcome and genuinely considered. We do not delete negative feedback simply because it reflects poorly on us or our partners.

Social Media Ethics

Content shared on The Dailey House’s social media accounts reflects the same editorial standards as our website. Our team members distinguish between personal opinions and official brand positions when posting publicly. We do not share unverified trend claims, exaggerated before/after results, or deceptive visual comparisons on any platform. Sponsored social content is disclosed with #ad or #sponsored in accordance with FTC guidelines.

Legal & Copyright Compliance

All images published on The Dailey House are either licensed for commercial use, used under explicit permission from the original creator, or original photographs with full attribution. We do not publish images scraped from social media without written permission and credit. Product images are used in accordance with brand press guidelines. We comply fully with FTC disclosure requirements, GDPR and CCPA data privacy standards, and defamation law. If you believe your copyrighted work has been used without proper attribution, please contact us immediately.

03

Corrections Policy

We take accuracy seriously, which means we also take errors seriously. Mistakes happen — what matters is how quickly and transparently they are addressed. Here is exactly how we handle them.

Minor Corrections

Typos, broken links, formatting errors, or minor factual updates (e.g., a product color name). These are corrected silently without a public notice, unless the error could have meaningfully misled a reader.

Substantive Corrections

Incorrect product claims, outdated styling guidance, or errors in attributed quotes. These receive a dated correction note at the end of the article — e.g., “Updated May 2026: A previous version of this article misstated [X]. It has been corrected.”

Retractions

Content found to be fundamentally inaccurate, misleading, or harmful is removed and replaced with a retraction notice explaining what was published and why it was removed. We do not delete articles quietly to avoid accountability.

1
How Errors Are Identified Readers can report errors via the contact form or by emailing editorial@thedaileyhouse.com. Our editors also conduct regular audits of older content to catch outdated product information, discontinued links, and stale pricing.
2
Review Timeline All reported errors are reviewed within 48 hours of receipt. Substantive corrections are published within 72 hours of confirmation. Complex cases requiring additional research may take up to 7 business days, during which we may add an interim note to the affected article.
3
How Corrections Are Displayed Correction notes appear at the end of the article, above the comments section, with a clear date and a brief explanation of what changed and why. We never quietly overwrite content to hide that a correction was made.
4
Accountability Significant corrections and all retractions are logged internally. Patterns of error in any topic area trigger a broader review of related content. We consider accountability to our readers non-negotiable.
04

AI Use Policy

Artificial intelligence tools are part of how we work, but they are never the final word on what we publish. The Dailey House maintains a strict human-first editorial standard. Here is exactly where AI helps and where it does not.

Permitted Uses

AI assists with keyword research, content ideation, initial drafts, SEO optimization, headline testing, and image alt-text suggestions. These outputs are always reviewed, rewritten, and approved by a human editor before publication.

Not Permitted

We do not publish fully AI-generated articles, AI-fabricated product reviews, or AI-generated testimonials. No article is published without a named human editor reviewing it for accuracy, tone, and alignment with our editorial standards.

Disclosure

Where AI tools have contributed meaningfully to the research or structure of an article, we note this within the content. We do not obscure AI involvement, and we do not claim AI-assisted work as exclusively human-authored.

Bias Mitigation

AI-generated product recommendations and content suggestions are audited by our editors for inclusivity, price diversity, and representation. We do not allow algorithmic bias to shape what we recommend to our readers unexamined.

Data Privacy

Reader data — including emails, submitted questions, and browsing behavior — is never used to train external AI models or shared with third-party AI tools without explicit consent. Our use of AI tools complies with applicable data privacy law.

Human Oversight

Every article published on The Dailey House carries the name of a human editor who has reviewed it. That editor is responsible for its accuracy and quality. AI is a tool — editorial judgment belongs to people.

Review & Revision Process

This Editorial Policy is reviewed in full by The Dailey House editorial team on an annual basis, or sooner if significant changes in industry standards, legal requirements, or platform practices make an update necessary.

When revisions are made, the “Last Updated” date at the top of this page is refreshed and a brief summary of changes is noted below. We do not make substantive changes to this policy quietly.

Date of Last Revision: May 2026. This policy was reviewed and updated by the editorial team at The Dailey House to reflect current AI use practices, disclosure standards, and FTC guidelines for affiliate content. No substantive changes were made to the core editorial principles from the previous version.

Readers who wish to be notified of future policy updates are welcome to subscribe to our newsletter, where policy changes are communicated alongside editorial updates.
